Have You Ever...a look into the everyday life of an artist

Have You Ever...known an artist who didn't want a painting to sell, enter it in a show and place a really high price on it, and the painting sells? I read about one instance of this happening and I was at a show opening where this happened to another artist and she didn't know whether to be happy or sad!

  1. Hi Lori,

See you're back! Have heard that this is the thing to do if you don't want a work to sell, but haven't had the experience myself, or seen it happen. Well, at least they are well compensated on the sale. Selling a piece always takes me by surprise, and I don't know whether to be happy or sad, especially if it is a newer piece.

  2. It seems that I can never predict which paintings will sell - my VERY favorite ones will often sit there while the paintings that I almost did not bring to the show are loved by all.
