Classes

Lorraine's watercolor classes are taught in Colorado Springs.  Classes include intermediate and beginning watercolor, plein air watercolor, and watercolor workshops.

March 2 to April 27, 2013 - Painting Birds in Watercolor #2:
This 4 class course is designed for intermediate to advanced watercolor students. My first bird workshop focused on chickadees. In this class I will demo painting a more exotic bird like a flamingo or parrot. You will learn ways to depict their feathers to show both soft and harder flight feathers. Taking this class could give "flight" to your watercolors!
Dates: March 2, 16 and April 13, 27 2013
Colorado Springs, CO

March 6 to April 10, 2013 - Drawing to Improve your Watercolors:
This 4 class course is designed for anyone wanting to improve their drawing skills. If you are a watercolor artist that wishes to paint realistically, this class can help you reach your goal. We will start with the basics and work on many exercises to improve your eye-hand coordination and talk about how to improve your drawing techniques for working with watercolor.
Dates: March 6, 13 and April 3, 10  2013
Colorado Springs, CO

May 4 to May 25, 2013 - Painting Animals in Watercolor:
Do you have a favorite pet (cat, dog, bird or iguana) or maybe an exotic animal, like a giraffe, that you would like to paint? This 4 class course is designed for the beginning to advanced watercolor student. You will learn different techniques to give your favorite animal character, techniques for fur, feathers, or scales, and how to give the animal life through realistic eyes. Demonstrations and practical exercises will focus on giving students a good basis for continuing in this complicated but exciting medium.
