Have You Ever...a look into the everyday life of an artist

Have You Ever...finished a painting, taken your photos, cut mats, framed the piece, and upon placing your title tag on the back of the paper backing, turned the piece around to find out you forgot to sign it?  I have done this a couple of times throughout my 17 years of framing my paintings. It is not a lot of fun framing the same piece twice in one day!

    Lori,

    Always sign my paintings when they are done...then don't touch them again. Don't do my own framing, but have had to have framers redo pieces, and they never seem happy about it!

    I usually sign my paintings after I have scanned them in, now that I use the Panaview Stitching software. I also sign the backs of the painting and write the title and date on the back, as well.

    Lori, thanks for commenting. You are way ahead of me scanning and stitching images of your work. Don't think I will ever get to that level, but I know it is necessary if you want to make prints, etc. I'm aware of, but have not followed the practice of, signing and putting the title and date on the back of a painting. Thanks for the reminder. I should put that into practice.
