Splash 14: Best of Watercolor Winner

I just found out today that my painting "Shows Over" was one of 106 out of more than 1500 entries selected for the next Splash book in the series by North Light Books' Best of Watercolor Competition, Splash 14: Light and Color! These books are wonderful for inspiration and learning. I have entered several years and I was so excited to learn one of my paintings finally made it in. The book will be published in June of 2013.

    Lori,

    First of all, congratulations on being published! I have meant to comment on some of your other posts. I'm impressed with how you have expanded into DPW, adding to your blog, and successfully entering competitions. I wish I had your talent and drive. I am working on creating a blog since I have enjoyed yours and the other people you follow. Also, thanks for your most recent video installment.

      Thank you Johanna! I am still trying to catch up with some paintings, though. I like doing the videos, but it adds another thing that takes time. I hope to finish up a few paintings and start a new band painting soon. Let me know when you get your blog going!

    Hi Lorraine. Congratulations on your "Splash 14" selection! I came here via "Carrie's Creations" blog. I enjoy surfing and seeing all the beautiful artwork. Your painting above is stunning! Amazing reflections on the instruments and helmet. I just received word yesterday that one of my own paintings will be in Splash 14. Yahoo! So we'll be bookmates! Nice to meet you. Since hearing the news, i have not been able to sit still long enough to paint. Today will be a painting day though for sure. I've a few new bovine friends to portray.
